About us
Ovingdean Hall Foundation evolved out of Ovingdean Hall School for Deaf Children, which closed as a result of declining pupil numbers in 2010.
The school’s Trustees sold Ovingdean Hall and used the assets to found a grant-making charity which has continued the aims and ethos of the school. Since July 2012, we have been known as Ovingdean Hall Foundation. We have kept the same objects and registered charity number (1052478) as Ovingdean Hall School, and we continue to be supported by many of the individuals and trusts who used to make gifts when we were a school.
We are managed by the Ewing Foundation, another charity which works with deaf children and the professionals who support them.
Ovingdean Hall Foundation is a tribute to the generations of staff, students, student families, donors and trustees who made Ovingdean Hall School such a special place to live and learn.
